The department was started in 1971 with the objective to develop the all round skill in an individual, for the founder President Lt.Col. G.S.Gill strongly felt that only a sound body can hold a sound mind.

The college has a play field of seven acres and provide facilities for indoor and outdoor games.

The fields and courts made available to the students are:

• 400 M track with 6 lanes
• Foot Ball field
• Hockey field
• Volley Ball court
• Kabadi court
• Ball Badminton court
• Tennis courts
• Basketball court

The central turf wicket and the four turf, matting and concrete practice wickets are maintained by India Cements.

The college auditorium is being used for indoor games like Shuttle, Table Tennis, Carom, Chess and Weight lifting. Several of students have represented the University, State and the Country in different games.
