The Department

The students are assessed based on regular tests, assignments and oral questions during class hours. The slow learners are identified and are given extra attention during the practical classes. The staff of the department is not critical with this set of students and approaches the problem sympathetically.  

Meritorious students are identified and encouraged to present papers at various symposium, participate in Science Quiz competitions, in technical sessions conducted by research institutes and are encouraged to take practical training in different laboratories.

Placements

The staff members take care not only to impart theoretical knowledge and practical skill to the students, but also take keen interest in seeing them get employed. They train the students to face the interview. A record of the past students is maintained in the department to be passed on to the prospective employer, as and when the opportunities arise.  

Organizations like Biocon India, Bangalore, Indian Organic Chemicals Limited, Chennai, Noveon Diamalt Private Limited, Chennai, Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals LTD, Chennai, Oronite, Indian Additives limited, Manali, Chennai , CURE, Chennai, Hindustan Essential Oil company limited, Boravali, Bombay are a few of the industrial units that show interest in recruiting the chemistry graduates and post graduates of our college.
