Obtaining the Application
form
Students who wish to obtain admission should
apply in the prescribed form which can be obtained from college office
against payment of Rs.50/- for each U.G. course and Rs.60/- for each
P.G. course. This includes cost of registration fee and computerization
charges. Any student who wishes to obtain application forms by post
should remit to The Principal, Guru Nanak College, Anna Campus,
Velachery Road, Chennai -600 042, the prescribed cost of application
and an additional amount of Rs.20/- towards postage for each
application by Crossed Demand Draft only, writing legibly the name,
address and the course for which admission is sought, specifying the
main subject of study along with a self-addressed of the size 105x26
cm's.
Separate application forms should be
used for each course if a candidate wishes to be considered for
admission to more than one course of study.
Handing over the Application
form
Completed application forms with marks duly
entered and attested should be handed over in person to the college
office and a registration receipt obtained. Students residing outside
the city may send the completed application by post duly affixing
Rs.5/- postage stamp on each card attached to the application for
sending the registration receipt. The registration number should be
quoted for any future reference or enquiry regarding the application.
The last date for receipt of application
forms for U.G. courses is the 10th day after the publication of the
Higher Secondary School Examination results of the Government of Tamil
Nadu and for the P.G. courses the 10th day after the publication of
B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. results of the University of Madras.
Admission procedure
An applicant provisionally selected will be
called for an interview with the Principal. The parent or guardian
should be present at the time of the interview. A call for the
interview does not necessarily ensure admission. At the time of the
interview the candidate should produce all the relevant certificates in
original as mentioned in the interview card. The original certificates
will not be returned to them before the
completion of their courses of study.
Selected students are advised to keep with
them sufficient number of true copies of their certificates. Foreign
students Should produce a
long-term student visa issued by the respective Indian embassy. A
temporary Visa or a tourist Visa will not be accepted.
Terms of Admission
- If a candidate fails to produce the
certificates in original he/she will not be considered for admission.
- Admission to any course is given on the
condition that the parent or guardian keeps in touch with the Principal
and/or Head of the Department by visiting them in person at least once
a month in order to keep himself informed of the progress and conduct
of his/her son/daughter/ward.
- All admissions are provisional and are
subject to the approval of the University of Madras. Students must
satisfy themselves that they are eligible for Admission. If at any time
after admission they are found ineligible their admission will be
cancelled.
- The college authorities reserve the right
to cancel the admission of a student without returning the fees if
there is any discrepancy between the certificates produced and the
entries made in the application or if any suppression of facts is
discovered at a later date, or if the authorities are not satisfied
with the bona fides
of the student and with his/her conduct and behaviour.
- The authorities reserve the right to
increase the fees at any time if they deem it necessary.
