Applicants for the degree
courses :
Applicants for the degree courses should
have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (XII Std.), under the 10
plus 2 pattern prevalent in Tamil Nadu or it's equivalent from other
universities or boards.
Candidates who pass the All India Senior
School certificate examinations, New Delhi will be eligible for
admission provided they pass the examination with a minimum of five
subjects of which English shall be compulsory. They will be required to
pay an additional sum of Rs.200/- towards the Recognition Certificate
to be obtained from the University of Madras at the time of interview.
An applicant who has passed the examination
of the above bodies should produce an eligibility certificate
(photocopy and original) from the university of Madras at the time of
interview.
Applicants for the M.Com :
Applicants for the Masters degree in
Commerce should have passed the B.Com., B.C.S. (Corp. Sec.), B.B.M.,
B.A., (Cooperation), B.A. (Business Economics), B.A. (Industrial
Organization) or B.Sc. (Mathematics) with Accountancy and Costing or
Banking as allied papers scoring 50% and above in courses other than
B.Com., and B.C.S (Corp. Sec.).
Applicants for the M.A.
Economics :
Applicants for the Masters degree in
Economics should have passed the B.A. (Eco) or B.Sc. (Mathematics) or
B.Sc. (Statistics) or B.Com. degree examination.
Applicants for the M.Sc.
Chemistry :
Applicants for the Masters degree in
Chemistry should have passed the B.Sc. degree with chemistry as the
main subject from the University of Madras or it's equivalent from
other universities with Mathematics as one of the allied subjects.
Applicants for the Ph.D.
Commerce :
For admissions to the Doctorate programme in Commerce, candidates
should
have passed the M.Com examination.
Applicants for the Ph.D.
Economics :
For admissions to the Doctorate programme in Economics, candidates
should have passed the M.A (Economics) examination.
Applicants for the Ph.D.
Defence Studies :
For admissions to the Doctorate programme in Defence Studies,
candidates
should have passed the M.A (Defence Studies) examination.
Applicants for the Ph.D.
Zoology :
For admissions to the Doctorate programme in
Zoology, candidates should have passed the M.Sc. (Zoology) examination.

Language
Hindi and Tamil are offered under First

and English as second language.
Women students
Women students are admitted to all courses.
30% of the total strength in each course will be filled by women
